At least nine people have  been killed and 30 others wounded after a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a Sunni Muslim mosque.

Police officials said the attack on Friday took place in Tal Afar, a town located between the northern city of Mosul and the Syrian border.

The explosion happened as people gathered for Friday afternoon prayers.
